Contributing Chefs and Nutritionists
Prior to enrolling in culinary school, Ellen Emerson served in the US Navy for twenty-two years. She now delights in serving up fresh, healthy food as a private chef and as a cook and teacher with several New York City non-profit organizations.
During Ellen’s Navy career she served overseas in South Korea, Spain, West Africa, the Persian Gulf and completed two circumnavigations of South America. The tastes and foods she found on those travels serve as inspiration in her new career in the kitchen.
In addition to graduating from the Chefs Training Program at the Natural Gourmet Institute, Ellen deepened her knowledge of health-supportive cuisine as a student in the Food Therapy course taught by Dr. Annemarie Colbin. She works with private clients who are facing serious illness as well as those who simply want to enhance their well-being through delicious foods.
